During my time as a mid-weight designer at Cancer Research UK, I worked closely with the Social Media, News and Content team to create engaging and informative content for CRUK’s online channels. This ranged from creating animations, campaigns, branding for fundraising products, social media badges, vox pops, infographics, GIFs, video interviews and illustrations.
I also made content for CRUK’s sub-brand Stand Up To Cancer, and did live graphic design at their televised events on Channel 4 and live-streamed events on YouTube.
Part of my role at CRUK was to upskill the Social Media, News and Content team. I ran a series of tutorials and taught the team Photoshop and Premiere Pro to a proficient level.
Here are some of the highlights from my time at CRUK.
Dryathlon Stickers and Illustrations
Dryathlon is one of Cancer Research UK's fundraising challenges where people don't drink alcohol for one month. Here are a collection of badges I illustrated and animated to act as relatable content to help motivate participants.

UK's 10-year Smoke Free Anniversary
This illustration was commissioned by Cancer Research UK to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the smoke ban in the UK. I was briefed to mimic a retro style of illustration to attract the attention of journalists and the public. I created an animated version to work on CRUK's social media channels.

Brain Tumour Illustrations
I was asked to create a series of editorial illustrations for Cancer Research UK's Science blog series on brain tumours. I worked closely with scientific communication specialists to find an abstract way of representing the themes found in the articles. Blogs can be found here.
